Bematech Indústria e Comércio de Equipamentos Eletrônicos is a multinational company with headquarters in São José dos Pinhais (PR). The company has subsidiaries in many states of Brazil and representation offices in Argentina, USA, Germany and Taiwan. The Design Center Paraná provided services to Bematech between 2004 and 2005, when the company was planning the launching of a printer line.

To disseminate design culture in the entrepreneurial context, the Design Center Paraná promoted a lecture for Engineering workers of Bematech and other departments as well, such as Marketing and Sales. This action put together a multidisciplinary team to discuss topics such as design management and innovation.

The second part of the job carried out by the Design Center Paraná consisted of the organization of a special Ideas Workshop whose topic was prototyping, defined according to the needs of the company. The action gathered a restrict group, which was focused on the development of the printer line. The event resulted in  the mock up of a new product, based on a preliminary market survey carried out by the Design Center Paraná.

The workshop also had the goal of defining the design office which would be responsible for the development of the new printer line. The Design Center Paraná gathered information and invited designers from three companies to participate on an event together with Bematech employees, to create closer contacts. Tec Design was the chosen office and developed the project under the coordination of Bematech's internal team.
